Tsurumi VANCS pumps were installed for pumping mine acid solution.
They have been running for about 6 months in the natural seeps, and have been maintaining sump levels lower than ever before.
To show how corrosive this application is, a test piece of 1.5" x 1.5" x .250" angle iron, 12" long, placed in the sump water completely corroded/dissolved within one week.
When the customer cleaned and inspected everything, they found no problems on any of the installed pumps including the running current.
Before using Tsurumi pumps, the customer used European pumps, but they only lasted a couple of months at a time before they burned up.
It is due to the rail system to keep the pumps from sinking down into the mud clogging the suctions. The base elbows are mounted to a piece of 1" thick Ultra High Molecular Weight sheet (1'x3'), and the sheet sits at an angle at the bottom of the sump, keeping the suctions up and away from the mud. All other metal used for assembling the support structure is 304 stainless steel.
